About Me
Hi! My name is Liza. Welcome to my blog and thanks for visiting! I'm a Midwestern gal now living in the beautiful Land of Enchantment, Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have a plant care business here in town called Good To Grow. I can beautify your home, office, or patio with plants and flowers. I have 12 years of experience growing plants, and friendships.
Plants are living, breathing creatures, and if they're indoor plants, they are 100% dependent on human care. They cannot water themselves.
Please let me know if you have questions or if you would like help with your plants or garden. You can reach me at lizatheplantlady@gmail.com or follow me on Twitter, Lizawheeler7.
All photos are mine unless otherwise noted. All content is also entirely my hard work. If you'd like to use any content or photos, all you have to do is ask. If you take without asking, you are a thief. And thieves suck. So don't suck. We have a deal? Good.

That’s why I don’t buy pumpkins in the fall or poinsettias at holiday time. I just get tired of them and they are around too long!

These aren’t mine to toss, so I just have to look at them week after week. Drives me kinda crazy.

My grandfather-in-law had a pointsettia next to his house that grew to be over one story tall. This was in Lavernia, Texas (small town outside of San Antonio). Have you suggested that people plant theirs outside in the spring? His died back ever year, but came back from the roots very reliably.

People here in central Phoenix and Mesa do sometimes plant them in the yard protected from too much sun in summer and too much cold in winter. Where I live in the outskirts of the city, it is too cold and they freeze.

Ginny, I think it gets a little too cold here, too, to plant them outdoors. Although this past winter I bet they would’ve been fine since it was so mild.
These are at the same company where people put the Orchid and Bromeliad in the kitchen to die. No one wants to throw them away so they stay in the kitchen forever. Grrr!

I really do see your point Liza. Imagine all of these poinsettias all over the world being put it into a corner after the holidays. Imagine too all the soil and pots possible that are thrown out if not composted or recycled! Stores around here sell those cute mini roses that can be planted outside on certain zones, should you want to keep it.
