Hello pies, and happy Friday!

Welcome back to the Good To Grow site, and thanks for being here.

Fridays are a fun day on the blog. Usually we have our Ask the Experts Panel, followed by puzzler action. This week, however, our beloved Experts are on a much-deserved break.

While they’re gone, let’s admire their adorableness:

And go straight to the plant puzzler:

???Real or Fake???

My friend Cyd from Bloomington submitted this photo and asked if the plant was real or fake:

Good To Grow, Liza's photos, real or fake plant puzzler

Let’s see how you answered:

Tom from Midwestern Jungle wrote, “I’m gonna guess real”

Joseph Brenner wrote, “Looks like a real one to me.(B>{D=”

That’s two votes real, zero votes fake.

What’s the correct answer?

Let’s take a wider view:

Real! And real pretty!

Look at my talented friend! Cyd, that’s one good-looking succulent wreath. That seems like a handy cure for spring fever – a living wreath to tide you over until all your snow melts.

As Cyd knows, real plants are prettier and more interesting than fake plants. And they’re less expensive. We heart houseplants!

Cyd, for submitting the puzzler, you’ve earned 52 velvet-covered points. Excellent puzzler, thank you. I think some people were afraid to guess because it was tricky. That’s ok – people can play along at home.

Tom was brave, and Tom nailed it! Well played, fine sir! You were first with the correct answer, so you’ve earned the following title: The Bestest, Fastest, Numero Unoest, Premierest, of High Moral Character, Speediest, Swiftest, Charmingest, Most Incredibly Knowledgeable Plant Enthusiastest and Grandest Champion of the Houseplant Blog Universe and Beyond.

Let’s say you’re at a party this weekend and you meet someone new. You should introduce yourself as Tom The Bestest, Fastest, Numero Unoest, Premierest, of High Moral Character, Speediest, Swiftest, Charmingest, Most Incredibly Knowledgeable Plant Enthusiastest and Grandest Champion of the Houseplant Blog Universe and Beyond. I’m sure you’ll forge lifelong bonds.

Congrats, Tom, for your win. In addition to your new title, you may also multiply all the prizes by seven shamrock dance moves. Good job!

Joseph, you’re awesome for playing and for guessing correctly, too. To show my gratitude for you and Tom playing, I’d like each of you to have the following prizes: One Saint Patrick’s holiday, three bean burritos, 12 1/4 extra credit points, a first day of spring, 14 celestial grooves, an amicable muskrat and his uncle, green beer, two hand-knitted sweaters, 3.14 key lime pies, the luck of the Irish, an all-expenses paid trip to the kitchen, four mini cosmos, ribbon, one temporary tattoo, a pair of scissors, a full moon Sunday, two extra earlobes, a bouquet of stars, 11 more points, six hellzyeahs, and a bowl of warm stew. Congrats! Thanks for playing!

Up next, a new puzzler:
