Hello sweetiepies, and happy Friday!

Welcome back to the Good To Grow site, and thanks for being here.

We’re at the end of another long work week. Hopefully it was a good week for you out there. I mentioned this yesterday, but it’s worth repeating – the Experts will return next Friday. Yay! Thank you for your patience on their break. Let’s admire their adorableness once more:

Then move on to the plant puzzler:

???Real or Fake???

Last week, I asked if this Anthurium plant was real or fake:

Good To Grow, LIza's photos, real or fake plant puzzler

Let’s see how you answered:

Ivynettle from Letters and Leaves wrote, “It’s been a while since I’ve played… anyway, real!”

Steph from Indianapolis wrote, “hmmmmm….real”

mr_subjunctive from Plants Are the Strangest People wrote, “So very real.”

Martha from Plowing Through Life wrote, “They look pretty real to me!”

Claude from Random Rants and Prickly Plants wrote, “Real. As mr s would undoubtedly know…”

Joseph Brenner wrote, “They are absolutely real. And so is the Chinese Evergreen.(B>{D=”

That’s six votes real, zero votes fake.

What’s the correct answer?

Let’s take a wider view:

Real! And really pretty! At this point, I think of mr_subjunctive whenever I see an Anthurium, because of his great enthusiasm for them. I’ve been tepid with my own response to the plants over the years, but when I saw this one recently, I thought wow, what a beauty! Such a healthy, happy plant. Gorgeous!

(And yes, Joseph, the other plants there are real, too. Nice eye!)

Great job everyone! You’re all plant stars!

Ivynettle, you were first with the correct answer, which makes you the best answerer. Well played! For being so swift, this week you’ve earned the following epithet: The Queen of Greenery, Gypsy Soul, shoo shoo shoo shooby, Fastest Typer, of Highest Plant Intellect, shoo shoo shoo shooby, Able To Leap Medium-Sized Retaining Walls, Protector of All Flowers and Most Plants Especially If They Don’t Have Bugs, shoo shoo, and Grandest Most Cheerful Championella of the Houseplant Blog Universe, shoo shoo shoo shoobeeeeeeeeee.

Up next, the new puzzler:

???Real or Fake???

For this week’s puzzler, we’ll start with the wider view. Are these plants real or fake?

This may or may not be a trick question. So, I will give you one hint: The water in the containers is real.

(I never promised it’d be a good hint, haha!)

Think you know the answer, smartyplants? Leave your best guess in the comments section or on my facebook wall. You have until midnight MST (that’s 2a.m. EST) next Thursday, May 1st, to cast your vote. I’ll reveal the answer and the winner(s) after next week’s panel of Experts.

I’ll be back tomorrow, hope to see you here.
